Dentro de esta regi\u00f3n, el R\u00edo Grande, conocido como R\u00edo Bravo en M\u00e9xico, es la frontera internacional entre los Estados Unidos y M\u00e9xico. El \u00e1rea conocida como Big Bend lleva el nombre de la gran curva hacia el norte que hace el r\u00edo antes de fluir hacia el sureste hacia el Golfo.<br>de M\u00e9xico.
