Disadvantaged Border Communities and Water Access
What happens when communities fall outside of city limits—and outside of essential services? Join us on November 10, 2022, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. (CT) for a Coffee Break session hosted by the Permanent Forum of Binational Waters, focusing on unincorporated and economically disadvantaged communities along the U.S.–Mexico border.
These communities often face serious limitations in access to water, sanitation, or both. They exist in a legal and infrastructural gray area, frequently excluded from public utilities, investments, and decision-making processes. This session will explore who lives there, why these communities persist, and how public and private efforts can bridge the gaps.
