World Water Week 2024

March 18 @ 8:00 am - March 23 @ 5:00 pm

Free

The Permanent Forum of Binational Waters invites you to celebrate World Water Day 2024!

Since 1993, World Water Day has been celebrated every year on March 22nd to raise awareness about the importance of water and the 2.2 billion people who live without access to safe water.

In collaboration with the UTEP One Water Cluster and the artist-led collective Somos Agua/We Are Water, we invite you to our annual World Water Day celebration, which will take place during the week of March 22, 2024.

As we have done for the past three years, we will offer a week of interdisciplinary events designed to engage faculty, students, and community members who work on the issue of water from a variety of perspectives. This initiative seeks to create a public platform to increase the visibility of water research and activism, as well as to foster new connections and working relationships on this important topic. There will be a mix of online and in-person events.

This year’s theme is: “Bridging Borders: Leveraging Water for Peace.”

The celebration will be hosted jointly by The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), with venues on and off campus in El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.

To register, click on the “RSVP NOW” button above. Once your form is submitted, you will receive the full agenda and access to Zoom-enabled events via email. Registration is free and open to all community members!

We hope to see you there!
