How to Use Interpretation in Live Events of Binational Waters

Follow these instructions to set up interpretation and fully participate in our live events of Binational Waters like Coffee Breaks, Science Talks, or Water Webinars initiatives.

For an optimal experience in the initiatives of the Permanent Forum of Binational Waters, please follow these steps to set up interpretation. You can listen to the event in either English or Spanish:

  1. Locate the interpretation icon at the bottom of your screen. This icon looks like a globe and is usually found on the toolbar along with other controls.
  2. Select your preferred language:
    • For English: Choose “English” from the language options and activate “Mute Original Audio” to hear only the interpreter.
    • For Spanish: Select “Español” and enable “Silenciar el audio original” to avoid background noise and hear only the interpreter.
  3. Keep your microphone off and use the chat for questions or comments. This ensures a clear audio experience for all participants.

What are Coffee Breaks, Science Talks and Water Webinars?

The live events of Binational Waters—including Coffee Breaks, Science Talks, and Water Webinars—offer a range of opportunities for engagement, learning, and collaboration.

Coffee Breaks are informal virtual sessions organized by Binational Waters to foster discussion and networking among experts and stakeholders. These short, interactive sessions allow participants to share ideas, updates, and solutions in a relaxed and engaging environment.

Science Talks are more focused presentations that dive deep into specific scientific topics related to binational water issues. These talks aim to share knowledge, research, and innovative solutions with professionals, academics, and policymakers working in the field.

Water Webinars are in-depth online seminars organized by Binational Waters, designed to address complex issues surrounding transboundary water management. These webinars bring together experts, policymakers, and practitioners to discuss challenges, share research findings, and explore collaborative solutions related to water resources that span national borders. Each session provides participants with valuable insights into water sustainability, governance, and innovative practices to address shared water concerns.
