Gabriela, a Biologist with a Gender Perspective

Gabriela Rendón Herrera is a biologist with over 7 years of experience in water resource research and conservation. 

Throughout her career, she has worked on numerous initiatives, both nationally and internationally, focusing on the protection and restoration of watersheds. 

Gabriela has also been a relentless advocate for women’s participation in the water sector, seeking to integrate a gender perspective into environmental management and decision-making in water conservation projects.

Montserrat, a Multifaceted Leader

Montserrat Santibanez is the new Coordinator of the Women in Water Initiative at the Permanent Forum of Binational Waters. 

She holds a B.A. in Theatre and Dance, a B.A. in International Relations and Global Studies, a Certificate in Human Rights and Social Justice, and Certificate in Portuguese from the University of Texas at Austin.

Montserrat contributed to the initial phases of the Programa Ríos Vivos in Coahuila, Mexico, during her internship with the Secretaría de Medio Ambiente de Coahuila and the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality.

 She has lived in Mexico, the U.S., and Brazil, and enjoys writing in her free time!
