Professor Eckstein’s research focuses on natural resources and environmental issues at both the national and international levels, as well as on the interrelationship of law and science. His recent publications have addressed the international law of transboundary aquifers, pharmaceutical pollutants in the environment, endangered species challenged to oil and gas development, and climate change challenges to the management of global water resources. Professor Eckstein also serves as an expert advisor and consultant on US and international environmental and water law issues and has worked with the United Nations, US Agency for International Development, World Commission on Dams, Organization of American States, International Association of Hydrogeologists, and various local water entities in the United States.
