Hello everyone! After being busy with our strategic planning, we’re back with our regular Coffee Breaks.
And we’re back with an interesting topic indeed.
In our next Coffee Break, which we have baptized as “salty and charged”, we are going to address a topic that is on everyone’s lips: desalination. The title of the talk couldn’t be more suggestive:
Is desalination the solution to our water problems?
Desalination, or “desal” as it is popularly known, has gained popularity as the answer to our growing water crisis, especially in the Mexico-US border region.
The idea of the Coffee Break is to collaboratively answer questions like these: Is it really the solution or is it a more business-driven approach? Are there other recent agreements that propose this technology as an alternative binational option? And what about other alternatives? What are the associated problems and are we missing out on something in the Mexico-US border region?
All these questions and many more will be the central axis of our next Coffee Break, and for this we will have the presence of distinguished guests:
– Margaret Wilder, University of Arizona
– Adriana Zuniga, University of Arizona
– Nicolas Pineda, Sonora College
– Nélida Barajas, CEDO
